Here at Barefoot in Business we’re on a mission to empower our fellow female entrepreneurs in Uganda and inspire the next generation here in the UK. We’ve teamed up with some of Britain’s top women in business to create a free, virtual masterclass for schools that trains pupils in the basics of business and enables them to sell their very own tote bag collection made by our talented team of tailors in Uganda.
This is a free program for schools funded through Barefoot in Business bag sales and sponsorship from individuals and organisations who share our passion for education, enterprise, and equality. Once you sign up, we’ll match-make you with a sponsor in your local area and tailor the program to your school’s individual priorities and schedule.
The program runs every October to December and can be delivered as an in-class activity for the whole class or as an after-school group for specially selected students. Over the course of 8 weeks, the pupils work together to name their Collection, design their logo, create an advert, and sell their bags during a special Christmas pop-up shop - all the while increasing in confidence, learning new skills, and gaining a unique insight into the world of work.
